Alex began performing at a very young age and continued all the way through to college, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Theater Performance from the University of Kansas. After graduating, Alex spent a year touring with the Omaha Theater Company for Young People in a production of Miss Nelson is Missing. In New York, Alex has spent time training and performing at the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theater and has also written and performed with the Jewish theater company, Storahtelling. about us

Meredith Jacobs hails from Lincoln, Nebraska, where she got her first taste for the stage in her ballet and tap recitals. After she landed her first role in her high school's production of The Dining Room, Meredith gave up everything that didn't involve theater and never looked back. Since then she has earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Acting from Syracuse University and has made her home in New York City. She dedicates her time to all things comedic, including improv training at the Upright Citizens Brigade and writing and performing sketch with friends. She is also a voiceover actor for commercials and animation. For more information about Meredith, visit her website at www.meredithajacobs.com.

Jarred Baugh comes from the deep Bluegrass of Lexington, KY where he got his first taste of performing in the church Christmas play. He attended Western Kentucky University for a BFA in Performing Arts. He studied abroad at The Moscow Art Theatre, performed and lived in Australia, and is recognized in all 8 weapons by the SAFD. Since moving to New York City he has worked with Counting Squares Theatre and Columbia Stages. He has also found an incredible group of people to work with in The Polite Society, and is totally stoked about performing with them in the 13th annual NYC Fringe festival.

Shawn Rice joins The Polite Society from sunny Florida.  New York credits include Mainspring Collective's Dream of Me and Carpe Tunnel with Counting Squares Theatre.  Regionally he has worked with The Theatre at Monmouth, First Frontier, Bright Star Children's Theatre, PJ Productions, and The Show Palace.  He is a graduate of The University of Central Florida and a recognized Actor/Combatant with the SAFD.

The Polite Society is a comedic Super-group born on the mean streets of Astoria, Queens. With their unique style reminiscent of groups like The Whitest Kids You Know, Mr. Show, and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, these rabble-rousers have invaded New York City with successful performances of their productions, "i fucking Brilliant," "Better Than You," and “Hot Air Buffoons,” at Comix Comedy Club, Broadway Comedy Club, Under St. Marks, and most recently as part of the NY International Fringe Festival 2009.
